Challenging Tuesdays

(Second Tuesday Of The Month)

On the second Tuesday of every month, we have begun to introduce a range of style based classes covering different aspects of dance - including Advanced Jive, Blues, Utopia Style, Control & Momentum, Light & Shade, Latin Style, Musicality, Stops & Breaks, Hijacks, Coasting & Drops/Seducers. The aim of these classes is to introduce dancers to different ideas and concepts in both Modern Jive and other dance forms. The aim is NOT for us to create advanced classes that only 10 people in the room can do - remember that if you're trying something completely new, it doesn't have to be technically difficult for it to be challenging. 
However, we will still run regular beginners classes on these nights too. We understand that many dancers find it difficult to step up to the intermediate classes run at most venues because these classes often provide more complicated routines without covering the initial classic intermediate moves first, which historically were always a stepping stone for improvers. On this basis, improvers should be able to find making the transition from the classic classes on  Tuesdays to the more challenging classes on Tuesdays easier to manage.
Likewise, we also understand that improving and advanced dancers still need to feel challenged and will still want to explore different aspects of dancing to improve their overall experience. In developing Tuesday nights in this way, it is our hope that we will help dancers to take their dancing to a different level and therefore ultimately increase their enjoyment of dancing and that of their partners.
